Will it be cheaper to buy new wheels already painted Or sand, prime and paint what I have. They are in pretty good shape, just rusty.

New 16" wheels w/ 6 bolt hole can be bought for 33$, but will not appear orriginal to an enthususist. Original deere wheels had a solid center as opposed to 4 spoke resemblance. Can't buy original solid center wheels to my knowlege

Sand the old ones down and paint them. A new rim for my Case 930 cost $40 and the 7.5x15 3-rib Firestone tires cost $57 each new. So to put new paint on the rims might cost $20 or so for both depending on if you buy really good paint or not. Rusteoleum makes JD yellow for about $5 a can, I would give it a shot. I have used a wirewheel on a sidegrinder and drill(takes some time) with good results on rims. Two coats of red-oxide primer and two coats of Case orange and I was satisfied with the results. At a farm auction I saw some GOOD used JD front tires and rims 18" go for $110 for the set. The auctioneer wouldn't let me bid on them because he set up a deal with his buddy to sell at a certain price.

I just got back from my local TSC and Rusteoleum implement enamel is $4.29 a can not $5. And then all Rusteoleum products were 30% off so I got 2 cans of AC orange for $2.57 each. Supposed to get near 60 degrees thrs, fri so I will get some painting done on a AC planter I need to finish.
