In September 1950, my grandpa (Chalmer Pifer) of rural Gays, IL, bought a new JD MT for $1025. In 1986 he and Grandma moved to town after selling their farm of 51 years and the MT. After Grandpa died about 2 years ago, I started thinking about trying to get the MT back into the family (I think I've gotten bitten by some kinda bug b/c I spend a lot of time on this website).Anyway, I've found out that the tractor was sold to someone in Pana, IL, a few years ago. The individual that sold it to him is supposed to give me a phone number, but that's taking weeks/months. So, just in case, I am curious whether anyone on this board might know someone who might know someone in Pana who might know something about Grandpa's tractor. The individual in Pana bought it from someone near Arthur, Illinois. I would like to at least visit Grandpa's tractor and take some pictures if buying it isn't an option. I will also keep you updated on how things progress in my quest.
