Thanks to all the help that I have received. This site is a miracle worker. I now have the tractor (47 model A) running at 1100 RPM at full throttle. The only problrem is that it just won't pull a load, or idle properly. Minor detail though. The two questions I have though are if the vent tube from the air cleaner to the govenor is really neccesary. My tractor didn't come with one. Also where can I get the proper plugs for the Powr trol to operate the shaft. I can operate auxilary cylinders so that is a good sign. Thank you all for the help once again and have a good day.

Wes

Wes, first try adjusting the idle & load needles on the carb., if that doesn't help try running with the choke 1/2 to 3/4 on & see if it runs better, if that helps your carb has plugged idle & fuel delivery passages in it. If running with the choke on doesn't help look for an ignition problem or restricted fuel filter or line. If still poor running try running with the air cleaner disconnected then try to borrow a carb to see if it runs better. When you identify the cause of your poor running post back for details on how to repair the problem.

I would think your problem is either timing or carburator.
