I am ready to apply the decals to the hood, etc. of the JD Model 330 I am restoring and am seeking tips other than those supplied by Jorde's to help in applying the decals. I have never fooled with decals before. Thanks for any help.

If you have never put decals on don't do it dry. Decal shops mix water, alittle dish washing soap, and alittle rubbing alcohol. Use just a couple of drops of soap in a squirt bottle. First clean the hood very good and dry it.
Peel the paper backing off the decal and spray the decal and the surface. Position the decal, use a squeege and remove all the water, and air bubbles from the decal. Let it sit for 30min. or longer in cold weather than remove the top masking tape slowly.
Hope this helps...

sigh shops use a product called rapid tac, it worked well for me on some locomotive decals that were 10 feet long. they would have been real difficult without it.

You are right, they do use this product. This is a mixture that was used before products were made just for decals placement. This mixture is something that can be made with the products that are already in your home. No extra expense. Spend that money on the tractor! :)
