A year ago I purchased a precision 730 Diesel tractor. I noticed a mistake in that both rear fenders had hand hold cutouts. I believe that John Deere only put the hand hold cutout on the left fender not the right to avoid contact with the clutch pulley. I e-mailed Ertl and was told that it was a mistake that was not caught in time for production. Does anyone know whether the mistake was corrected in latter production runs?

I know what happened-they couldn't find any genuine 730 fenders, so they used some off a 4020 ;-).

I just bought a precision 730 from Ertl. Arrived
two days ago and mine still has hand holds on both sides. Go figure. Mine is numbered 13. I never noticed this until I read your post. Which
number do you have?
