You said that you rebuilt the pump and replaced injectors and air filter. Did you check the entire air intake passeges? You could have a restriction resulting in an overly rich mixture of fuel to air. But that should result in lack of power. You didn't say how well it ran. Or if it had any blowby. If it does not have bad blowby and you can't hear any knocking, (Usually when your engine is extremely worn, you'll have excessive clearance in the main bearings, cam bearings, piston liners, ect... all of these emit sounds that are good indicators.) Back to the fuel system for a minute too. Make sure you replace the fuel filters and it may not be a bad idea to blow them out. I could tell you a story of a farmer who lent out his fuel hand pump out to his brother in law, who used it to pump some used motor oil. When he got the pump back, the unexpecting farmer need to fuel his tractor. What he got was a bunch of trash in the fuel delivery system. Only got it running after he rebuilt the Roosa Master, bought 3 new injectors, replaced the fuel filter and screen on pick up pump and cleaned fuel tank. If you check every thing out, clean it and the tractor runs and sounds good, but just smokes. Run it and live with the smoke. JDF
