My 1940 JD H has a grease cup mounted above the front fan shaft bearing. The cup unscrews about half way, then hits the exhaust pipe. Do u have to remove the exhaust pipe to fill the grease cup or is there an easier way? The Owners Manual doesn't mention this cup - what to do - fill with wheel bearing grease, give it a half turn every year, anyone know? Thx

Phil, I have a 41 H that has a 90 degree grease zerk on the fan bearing. The 46 parts tractor I have also has the zerk. I think someone had installed the cup for ease of greasing but had the pipe removed and did'nt realize the problem until it was too late!

Thx, the 90 degree zerk makes a lot more sense, maybe I'll put one in.
