How do you get the clutch pulley off of a 49 B

I've got the all the clutch pieces out, I've pulled the clutch drive disk. The pulley easily
pulls out about 2" then stops. Do I need to pull
the fork assembly off for the pulley to come off?
I don't have a clutch problem, just wanted to know
whats in there. Thanks

Jim-- I might add that when putting the fork back in to make sure the fork goes into the slot it came out of. Hate to see you tighten something up and brake it. Might be hard to see but if you put a light where you are working you can make sure it's in the right slot. Just a warning!! luckydog

Jim, thought I was the only one who tore a perfectly good working machine apart just to "check it out". Makes for good entertainment on a cold winter night. Glad I'm not alone!!

Took me all day to get the clutch out of my super c. The deere took about 20 minutes once I made a puller. Lot of clutch disks in there don't you think. I was amazed..

Yes, you have to remove the cluch fork assembly before you can remove the disc. When you do take the disc off be sure to note the marks on the crankshaft and the disc. They have to be lined up when you reassemble or the engine will be out of balance. Good Luck, Paul
