I want to change the power troll on the back on my 1948 John Deere B to a flat back for pulling purposes. However, if I do will I be able to use the existing square seat or will I have to somehow change over to a pan seat?

Roger, it's a relatively simple matter to adapt your seat to a flat cover. The way most folks do it is to fabricate a mounting bracket from the top holes on your cover, and mount the battery box to that. Be sure to put some kind of angle bracket down to the next set of holes in your cover for strength. I made a new metal cover for my 60 that had the seat mount made into it (quite a job), but you can add the mounting very easily. Very commonly done. Hope this helps. Mike

Roger , there were flat backs made made for late Bs , they are a little hard to find . It would be more economical to use a back from an earlier B and drill and tap the rear end housing for a pan seat bracket while the back cover is off so you can catch all the metal chips. If your interested in either type of cover , I have both in stock , call Triple G Service ,1-716-542-3175, 9am-8pm, Bob.
