Good Morning Joe, Im not sure of any "Trick" in that sort of bolt removal, and you guessed it YES, im gonna suggest heat rather than the good ol fashioned "beatign" you gave them, but qualify it to some extent. 1) As much as possible, depending on how you can get heat to it, if a bolts stuck into something, I try to heat the surfaces surroundign the bolt threads, but not so much the bolt itself (especially right near its head) cuz that can make it soft and it easily twists off. Some beating/vibration once shes cooled may help break the corrosion(if possible more so on the item the bolt is threaded into) but dont hammer up the head. 2) Instead of a hard dead pull (like usong a cheater bar or long breaker bar) on the bolt, I prefer hammerign and vibration like on the end of the wrench. If you use an impact wrench and 6 point socket, that supplies vibration, but set it at lighter torque at first so you dont just twist her off. 3) I also prefer to vary the direction on turning the bolt, like loosen some but then tighten back some to work it free. 4) IT takes patience and heat around the bolt threads and then wrench end hammering/vibrating back n forth slowly milking it loose plus a few choice word at times. Good Luck n God Bless ya Joe John T
