My brother is thinking about adding a 3 point hitch conversion package to a 47 A. What the pro's and cons?

If I were you and I will be in about 6 months. Either buy one complete or buy the plans from hoxey hitches for around $40. Just put "3 point hitch plans" in your search engine and they will pop right up. I have been asking around and the problem with just making one from scratch is getting the lift arms for the rock shaft, in the right angle and lenght for full range of motion. Also I have seen several that have a bent top link support from improper hight, length, or just to light. The rest of the parts you can buy at a farm supply store. Depending on if you have 2 way or 1way hydraulics you may or may not have float pasotion. 1way yes, 2way no. I have 2 way and for the time that I need a float I plan on using heavy chains for the lifting links. Also depending on what you plan to lift you will definatly have to add weight for the front. Good luck.
