I can't get my rockshafts to move, for I just mounted a No. 800 3 point hitch. Thsi is on my 1952 60. I engage the Power Trol attached to the governor, and start 'er up. I can hear the pump running. I rock the lever forward and back. I have it filled with TSC universal hydraulic oil. You can hear it going when you push the lever, but the rockshafts do nothing. It operates a remote cylinder fine. I have standard Pioneer couplings. Is it something inside or something I'm just not doing right?

check and make sure the rockshaft will move first. Put a pipe wrench on it and try moving it. You should be able to pull it down when ther's no oil going to it, or if you have proper plugs in, push the lever forward and try moving it. It won't move unless ther's weight on it, and I have one that's hopelessly seized up...

popping--Clooney is leading you down the right path. I' read alot of his post's and he knows what he is talking about. You have to put a selector valve in, been there!! Bill

Poppin' Johnny, first do you have the correct (AA 4981 R) power-trol plugs installed in the power-trol housing (they don't have any hose fittings in them. The rock shaft won't work without them as they divert the hydraulic oil from the external cylinder to the internal one. If you have the selector valve assembly installed then disreguard the info on the power-trol plugs & just adjust it to change the oil flow. Next, make sure that the rockshaft was not in the up position & the lift arms installed in the lowered position (it can't lift any more if it is already in the up position, this is a common problem), Lastly, you might have to adjust the metering screw (the one on the L/H side of the power-trol housing) a good place to start is 2 turns out from seated, or adjust the throttle valve (the one on the back bottom of the power-trol housing) by turning it in aproximately 2 turns from the point the screw starts to contact the valve. If you have any questions on the power-trol adjustments, E-Mail me & I will scan the adjustment procedure & & E-Mail it to you.

Hey Have you tried using a different hydraulic cylindar. Or maybe hoking up the hoses to a different tractor and seeing if the cylendar is the problem.

The cylinder is not the problem. It works those fine. But The rockshafts don't move. I just bought a 3 point hitch and a backblade for snow removal.

if rock shaft hasn't been used in a while , I believe there are gaskets in there that are famous for drying out

That series of tractor needed the plugs in the externel outlets to transfer fluid to the internel lift for the three point syestem. The internel O-rings could be bad, but try the plugs frist. The later A's and G's where the same way.
