Anyone have one of these? I read about it, and they seem like a nice Dubuque built(not Manneheim Germany) 4 cyl. 70hp tractor. How much would one in good shape go for these days? Any comments apreciated.

Transmission shifters gave a lot of trouble on these as well as the balancer box in the bottom of the engine.

The balancer is really 2 shafts that run along the outside the bottom of the engine that have big wieghts bolted to them, they spin in order to make the engine run smooth, our 2630 had a lot of hours on it and the one shaft broke, weight let lose, we just welded the oil holes shut and removed the shafts, that was 10 years ago, still runs fine, but vibrates a little. We had the same engine in a tub grinder and the same thing happened, that balancer shafts are a bad design.

Think they are a good PTO tractor, a little light for the HP for pulling a load. Believe they have been a good series along with the 2640s. In my area (Washington) a good one would probably sell for about $10,000 depending upon how proud the owner was of his machine

I bought one 2 years ago with a John Deere 145 loader on it for $11,500 I live in Iowa. I have not had any problems with it. It has 6800 hours on it and had its first overhaul at 6300 hours. The guy I bought it from used it every morning for hauling hay and scooping manure. He would use it in the cold of winter and it always started.
