Does Anyone Know Width of Tractor?

My 1940 H would measure about 74 inches from the outside of one rear tire to the outside of the other if the hubs were slid out. Does anyone know what this measurement would be on a 1951 A? My trailer has 83" of clearance between the fenders & I'm wondering if the wheels on the A will have to be slid in before I can haul it? (That's always a fun job, especially when the tractor is restored & you don't want to scuff the paint). Thanks

According to an original sales brochure on the late styled A and B tractors, the overall width is 87".

If the wheels are on the axle with the hubs and clamps on the outside, it will be a pretty tight fit on your trailer - if it will go at all. If the wheels are reversed (like for mounting a corn picker) there's no way it will fit.

Good luck,

Stan

I can't answer directly, but when I hauled my 48 A home from my fathers, it measured 7' from outside to outside of the wheels, and there is about 6" of exposed axle showing on each side. If yours are all the way out, I doubt you will be able to get the tractor on an 83" wide trailor.
