I know that the 1950 A had a 'creeper' first gear. Did the B also have this feature? What year did they start this? And did it continue thru 1952? Thx

I once read a story of how the late model B was sold as having enough power to run one of Deere's flail choppers. Don't remember the model number but for some reason 25A sticks in my mind. Story went that without the creeper low gear the B could only run the chopper as long as the crop was no taller than the grass on a golf green! I may exagerate a bit there, ANYWAY... With the very slow low gear it could manage the chopper. For the A's it may have been for mounted corn pickers. I have heard stories of an optional "cornpicker" gear set being available for the mid series A's to slow them down. Just a couple pennies for the heap. Later!

Was this slow enough to use a roto tiller on it? Thanks

Can't comment about a rototiller, but 1st gear was 1-1/2 mph.

The B also had a creeper gear from 1947 thru end of production.
