The gas and radiator cap for my JOhn Deere B (1950) Should I leave them the silver color or should they be painted? When I had the radiator cap outside for a couple of weeks it started to oxidize which is why I ask...

Thanks,

Karl

I think the gas cap should be red and the radiator cap green. I also have a B, 1951, and those are the colors I've read they're supposed to be.

You might think this is stupid but I refuse to put ANYTHING red on my John Deere tractors. I always paint the fuel and radiator caps black. It`s your tractor so do things your way. The "correct police" will go nuts if you do something different!

Why thank you Robert. I pride myself on my "binderbashing" ability. What does IH really stand for?
