Good news: tire update

A month ago or so, I posted a question about how tractor tire warranty issues were normally handled. I had purchased a set of 9.5x32's for my H and, less than a year later, saw sidewall cracking that was getting severe. Tractor was garaged and barely used; mold knobbies were still visable in the tread.

Well, the good news is that the local dealer ordered me another set, fresh from Firestone (gulp) and swapped them out without a question. No charge. Never asked to see my receipt. After they were safely back on my trailer, I asked the shop foreman why they were so quick to replace them and he said that when he mentioned the problem to the owner, the owner grimmaced and said to just get new ones. Something about these tires being around for the last 20 years or so...

At least they did the right thing the second time around. Since y'all asked for an update, here is the good news. Sometimes things work out.

That sounds like a business that treats the customers right. You should post their name. Give them a little free advertising. I wouldn't be too rough on them for selling a set they had in stock for 20 years. They were probably glad to get rid of them. They stood behind their product. That's the important part.

My Goodyear dealer will not sell any farm tires of any size, claims he doesn't make any money on them, so he don't sell me any car tires either, this is in NE WI.
