I might be in the market for an unstyle G JD sometime in the future. What I'm after is an unrestored, complete tractor. It doesn't have to be running, the main thing I'm concerned with is having a complete tractor, and if possible with good sheetmetal. What does a tractor like this sell for? I realize it's different depending on the part of the country, but I'm just kinda looking for a ballpark figure here. Thanks,

Justin

I have done a few restorations for my father-in-law and I go by these standards. Because our projects are very extensive, we try to find a tractor that is not that bad. You will pay more upfront but if you get a real junker, I can tell you that you will pay A LOT MORE DOWN THE ROAD. Anyone who has unstyled G parts think they have gold. I paid $120 for one NOS intake valve.

Hi Justin There are a lot of variables to this as you know. In this area an unstyled G with poor but runnable tires, engine loose but not running, complete in decent condition will sell from $3000.00 to $4000.00 This is just a ball park figure. I saw a 37 short frame B sell at auction yesterday for $1850.00 It was in my opinion a parts tractor with rear round spoke wheels that had the hubs broken. The tires were history. The engine was stuck for many years, the hood rusted beyond repair, the shutters missing and the radiator front showing not being protected, muffler and exhaust pipe missing, and lots of wear on all moving parts. Thanks for replying. You're right there are a lot of variables. I guess my primary concern is getting a complete tractor. As far as running condition, tires, etc. I'm not that concerned. This is a restoration project that I hope to start tackling next summer, just trying to get a good idea of what one of these tractors are going to sell for right now so I'm ready when I do hit the market. Thanks,

Justin
