The picture negative was exposed backwards and then printed. Take a look at a negative one way and the the picture is correct, turn it around and all is the other way.

hey, just browsing around and thought of a question for all of you brains.
i have a 60 JD that twisted the govenor shaft off just inside of the drive gear. i tore her down and could find nothing wrong. i have another 60 whitch i dont use in the winter much and took the entire shaft with weights and fan gear and put into the busted one. it works great, no problems. BUT....
i still dont know what broke the shaft. any ideas.

thanks

Dell:

Had that happen on a '48 A once....the roller in vent pump at the govenor end of the fan shaft tied up, and the governor shaft gave...right inside the drive gear bore.

Any chance the fan slip clutch is seezed tight or has been bolted solid?

Yep, the flywheel is on the wrong side.

On the other hand, this may be the original tractor from which so many of those 1/16 scale cast iron John Deere 'OP' tractors were patterned. I've seen several of them with the flywheel and the pulley reversed.

Hey,
The picture is reversed in the ad. You can tell this by the fact that all the lettering on the hood is reversed. Looks kida neat though. That would be cool to build and mess with peoples minds at shows.

Flywheel is in the wrong place. A Belt pulley should be there and the flywheel on the other side.

This is a special tractor made for countries that drive on the left side of the road. They do things backwards. Or maybe for a left handed person? Or just possibly the photo is a reverse image?

Good one.
