I have a chance to pick up a 49 A (ser # 640471) styled. Narrow front, has a trip loader on it, the Hyd. has a tank mounted on the right fender, and hoses sort of hang around. I know I could take it off, or at least reroute the hoses, But is it worth it? Tin is pretty straight, will hear it this weekend as the owner is out of town. Asking price is $2100. Tires are weather cracked but not worn much. What would I do with, (wifes question) clean it up and have it around to drive and enjoy. Is it worth the money and should I just dump the bucket? Bob

I think $2100 is a bit much even with the loader. Recently bought one myself, for $550 here in OK. It wasn't running, but I think I should have it running with in the week. (Rebuilt card, replaced tire{$150 used, Miller has them for $250ish}, asn some other minor clean up work.) good tin.

I have seen several late model A's at auction this year. Most in usable condition have gone between $1700 & $2300 in my area in Indiana, so the price you quoted doesnt sound to far out especially with a working loader. The bottom line is what you are willing to pay. If you are satisfied, thats all that counts.

$2100 is probably 500-700 too much unless the loader is in good shape. What model # of loader?New rear tires will cost about 300 per alone. Would you plan to use the loader for serious work?
If so, the lack of power steering gets "old real fast"!

Well like I said, it would just be around to enjoy, probably get cleaned up and maybe restored. Then go to old tractor shows. Guess I better not pay much for it. Bob
