We just got the carb from Robert's and it runs good for while.. If you are just idling around it runs great, but after you pull the tractor for a while, it just seems to run out of fuel. You can let if idle for a few mins and it is Ok. We have changed the lines on the Carb, it now has 1/4 fuel line from the tank to the carb and the vent line has been plugged.. What is the purpose of this vent line? (Is it to relief pressure in the carb or trapped air?) What is the purpose of the little fuel canister on top of the carb, it holds about 2 ozs... Tomorrow, we are going to try 3/8 fuel hose, and try and find some fitting to hook up the vent... Anyone have any ideas on the purpose of some of these items... Thanks

JDGnut, it sounds like a fuel flow problem to me also. Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the carb (do outside or onto a container) then screw the little brass knurled knob on top of the fuel filter bowl to the top of the stud then hold it down with your finger, you should have a pencil sized flow of fuel comming out of the drain hole on the bottom of the carb. for at least 30 seconds, if not then remove & clean the filter, lines & fitting on bottom of tank also check for plugged tank vent pipe. What vent line have you plugged? if it is the tank vent DON'T. That line lets air enter the tank to replace the fuel that has flowed out, if the air can't get in, the fuel can't get out after it has run for a while, if in doubt try running with the gas cap removed.

Thanks Clooney, the air vent line is a line from the carb to the top of the tank, not the tank vent to the outside air. We are using new line and a new filter. The filter is a clear filter, so we can see the action of the fuel. We removed the filter and the flow inproved, but it still started missing after pulling for a while. Thanks

JDGnut, If the tank vent is not plugged? And fuel will flow out in a pencil sized stream for at least 30 seconds? And the exhaust manifold heat control is set to "COLD"? If all ok then you might have an ignition coil or condencer going bad.

Hey JDG, have you had the automatic fuel shut off apart and cleaned it? I've had the 60, 620, and 630 all give problems you are refering to. Every one needed cleaned out. Maybe this isn't your problem, but its a place to start! Haven't heard you talk much about the 630! Later, Don
