At the local John Deere dealer I can buy "Classic" green. Is this the correct color for a 1951 "A"?

Classic green is the color you need. I think the Ag green came into use with the new generation tractors. Classic green is for anything two cylinder. As I have watched and read here, if going for a good durable finish with good gloss and UV resistance, you might want to go with other paint brands than Deere. I think below on a listing with pictures of a B, he used Tisco. Some use DuPont and others PPG and there are many others. If you decide to use the Classic from Deere, use some hardener to make it a little more durable.

I would use regular Ag green, That's actually more correct and factory looking, Classic green is lighter and my opinion good for touch up on older paint that's faded.
