I am trying to decide on a 3 point backhoe attachment for my 5200 4 wheel drive John Deere tractor. I think I have narrowed it down between the John Deere number 10A backhoe and the Woods 1050 backhoe.Little information is available in my area on either of these machines.I like the John Deere on one hand for the compatibility with my tractor and for the subframe support. I also like the fact that it would fit closer to the back of the tractor. This seems it would make the tractor more stable without the feet down. The Woods on the other hand, seems to have more power according to specs, utilizes a pto pump instead of the tractor hydraulics, and would be an easier piece to attach and detach. My reservations with the Woods machine is that it weighs nearly 2000 lbs, fits only on the 3 point hitch further away from the tractor and may be too much for my tractor to handle. Hoe needs to have 3 foot bucket capabilities which will be used to dig ditches approx 3 foot deep. The most demanding task the hoe will be called on to perform is to dig larger holes of depths up to 6 foot.If the hoe will perform these tasks sufficiently, then I believe it will handle the rest of my work. Any input on these two machines or others that would work on my tractor would be greatly appreciated.

either one of those hoes should be able to do the job for you. New Holland also makes one that I am told is a good one.
