I have the option to buy a 38'unstyled B with round spokes front and rear. The rear spokes are F&H.What does F&H stand for.The tractor is really nice and in show cond. The rear tires are new old style Goodyears. The drawbar is the org.loop.The engine is like new and starts on the first or second turn.Paint is excellent. Is this tractor Worth the 3500.oo asking price which is firm. Thanks

The F & H are wheels produced by French and Hecht (not sure how to spell Hecht), and are fairly valuable alone, even though I personally think the JD rear spokes are better looking. The F & H have that real "Fat" hub right? I thought 37 was the last year for loop drawbars in B's but dont quote me on that. My parts book looks like when they went to Long Frames (late 37 and 38 over S/N 42,200) may have also been the loop drawbar cut off time. Only the late 37's and 38's after S/N 42200 are Long Frame Models, which increases the value some. That price is reasonable in my opinion, but certainly not a steal. I wouldnt take that for mine, but hours and blood and sweat and pride are surely worth something. Ol John T in Indiana

depends how badly you want it. My gguess is whoever restored has that much or more in it if he puts any value on his time. I know where a simmilar B is that they are asking 3500$ for and he said he would'nt get his money out at that. Would I pay that much for 1? No, but for me hhalf the fun is finding an old piece of rubbish in the bushes and getting it to run again. Mike
