All the books say to set the valves to .02 with the engine hot. However, I just rebuilt the whole thing and would like to set the valves cold before cranking it up. How much more open should the valve gap be when the engine is cold? Any help would be appreciated.

Rollo, if you are going to re-adjust them after you run it for a while, set them to .025"> If you are going to set them cold & not readjust them (not recomended, but done) set them to .022-.023"
