My L has a JD LUC engine with a broken exhaust valve spring. Is there anyway to replace the spring without removing the head. Thanks

Yes it can be done!
Take an old sparkplug and break the glass out of it then soder(or weld) a fitting for your air line into the steal part of the sparkplug. now put your adaptor into the sparkplug hole in the head of your engine it can just be finger tight. Now put the are hose from your airconpressor on the adaptor and turn it on. The air pressure will blow the valve shut and you can change the spring
