I need to find a place that might have parts for my 37. particularly the valve under the gas tank. it will neither shut off or stop leaking. any info would be greatly appreciated Carl.

Carl, if I recall, I think we were able to order new seals right from John Deere to repair those 3 way brass valves. Theres really not much in them if you remove and clean them thoroughlly and install that new seal she should work fine. I leave mine set on fuel (i.e. the big main tank)amd use the sediment bowl shutoff to turn off the gas. John T

Just checked on the 3-way valve itself for a 39 B from the local JD dealer. They gave me a number of AB1545R for the complete valve. Without extensive research, they didn't think there was a seal kit available. Price was $54 for the whole thing. Mine doesn't leak that bad yet.

John T is right, just bought the new packing last from Deere parts counter. They even had it in stock.

You do want to be careful with those valves they are not cheap. I stuck mine fast, soaked it in diesel, carb cleaner, gunk etc. nothing worked. Broke the stem off over torquing it and a replacement cost me an arm and a leg.
