2510 PTO guard retainer replacement?

On the rear of the transmission case there is a round sheet metal retainer, just left of the center link attachment point used to hold a PTO cover. Mine is badly rusted and I would like to replace it. It looks like it is held on by 2 rivets of some sort, but I am unsure of how to remove it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Colin

It is held on by a roll pin. Drive it out with a punch.

Duke I dont want to sound like a smartass ,but how do you drive those two rollpins OUT if they are already driven IN .Unless someone takes off the whole rockshaft assembly and goes into the differential cavity and drills a hole for each rollpin from the INSIDE of the cavity through the differential housing up to the rollpins to drive them out from the backside.Frankly I would just drill them out from the OUTSIDE.

I'm not sure they are roll pins, looks more like a solid rivet of some sort to me, but either way that sounds like a good plan - drill them out from the outside.

Thanks for the suggestions,

Colin
