I got a 40 the other day and a 2 botttom plow with it. The plow has a long shaft to go under the tractor and a coupling for the draw bar. Looking for the model and the part the bar goes into under the tractor.
Appreciate any help on this. Thanks, Bob

Sounds like you have a JD M or MT plow. They have a long beam that goes under the tractor and hangs on a hanger in the middle of the tractor and triangular piece gets pinned to the drawbar.

The JD40 has 3 point hitch. I wouldn't think the plows attached to the drawbar. Perhaps, someone else would have some knowledge of this. Made me wonder if the plow was for some other tractor model.

I agree about the 3 point and plow. But it came with it and near as I can see, could have been used by most of the early models. The hanger system is under the B models I have looked at and at least one A. Would like to know more about the plow, get the parts to make it complete and try it out befor it becomes a flower garden ornament. (My wife has John Deere Bicycles and old emplements in her flower beds.) Bob
