What year did B's start coming with compression release? Was at a small show this weekend and couldn't pin down what year the change took place.

They went to compression reliefs when they styled them and increased the bore form 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 in 1939. I think thats all right, I know my unstyled 38 has none but Henry's styled 39 does. Ol John T

John T.,
I had a 1936 model B, and I think it had the compression reliefs on the under side of the block. I'll look at an old B block tomorrow and see if there are holes on the bottem.
