the serial # would not be cast into the block and the other #does not appear to be correct.the serial #should be on a plate on the right side of the trans housing

Thanks twopop, I belive that I have the serial #. correct. But I will recheck. It is located on the right side of the trans. above the oil dip stick. The metal tag # is SNT 4R1C02531T and the tractor is made in ohio.

Having lived in Iowa for 17 years, I got used to the confusion between Ohio, Iowa and Idaho. I once saw a T shirt that said, "University of Iowa, Idaho City, Ohio" (or one of those combinations).

Thanks twopop and stan, I rubbed in some black paint on the serial no. plate. And low and behold the last number on the plate showed up,its a 0 that makes the serial no. 4R1C025310T I think it was made in 1966 to 1967. This weekend I making up a frame to hold up the front of the tractor so I can replace the front bushings to try to make the maunal steering a litte more tight. Thanks again John D
