JD B Oil Filter

I recently acquired a 38 JD B and would like to change the oil and filter. Rather than pay JD dealer prices, is there an aftermarket brand that someone still sells? I'm expecting a few blank stares when I start asking around out there for one, so any assistance would be appreciated.

I was on my way home a couple of weeks ago and thought I'd try my local NAPA store. They happened to have two of them sitting on the shelf. It was listed in their catalog, so your store should be able to look it up. Price including tax was under $5.

Kelly when you go to John Deere dealer,that has had no dealings with old tractors of thirties and forties,just ask him for a oil filter for a 4020 they are the same paper cartridge I can't think of the John Deere No. but 2630 comes to my mine,also you can do the same thing at NAPA,you ask for filter for a '38 and they get a blank look on there face and go duh--duh but they understand when you mention John Deere 4020 tractor.John Deere is a whole lot like Chevrolet when it come to parts,they get a good thing going they will stay with it like in interchangability of parts. boy I'm gettting windy hope this helps. Gman, you are close- the part number is AR26350. Many times John Deere filters are CHEAPER than parts store jobs. Hope this helps. Mike

Mike is correct. The JD Dealer charged me $3.29 about three months ago for these filters.
