Larry, they aren't too bad, you must pull the axle housing & final drive on each side to access them. You should get a parts & service manual before you tear it apart as they will save you much time & money in the long run. Your brake disks are probably either glazed or soaked in oil ( if they are oil soaked you will probably have to install new oil seals also). When those brakes are working right you can stop that tractor with bare feet on the pedals as they are self energizing when applied!... The driven disks are splined to the final drive shafts & turn with the final drive shafts, & between the driven disks are two metal actuating disks that are held together by springs, there are 3 hardned steel balls in cups between the actuating disks. The actuating disks are kept from rotating by boses on the the diff. bearing quill. Pushing on the brake pedal causes the actuating disks to rotate slightly in different directions & rolls (moves) the 3 balls in their cups & forces the actuating disks apart, that action forces the driven disks between the actuating disks & the machined braking surfaces on the housings.
