After accessing the situation last night I believe I have a mess on my hands. My generator appears to be longer than an original and it seems it was made to fit on the left hand side of the tractor. My voltage regulator is also longer than the cut out relay shown in the manual. I can make some additional brackets to make it fit but will this type of set up work with a 45 B? The V.R. has 3 connections labeled "bat, fld and gen". It also has 2 posts labeled "A and F". Also is it possible to buy a wire harness or will I have to make this myself? Thanks John T and Glenn for your help.

As far as mounting, I cant help you on that and I doubt if you can get a harness, but wiring it and making it work I can help. The VR bat terminal has to get to the battery (about a # 10 wire) and thats usually through the ameter and then to the battery often at the big starter terminal. That would be the same HOT wire thats already down there that was connected to the output of the cut out relay anyway. The gen and fld terminals off the VR go to the Armature and Field posts out of the generator. It may be easier if you just found the right generator with a cut out relay to install. John T
