Got to put my 65 3020 diesel out to pasture to find a newer model. Good ole tractor but I am getting tired of using the front console and spending more time fixing new problems than running. I am looking for easier operator controls, snchro type trans and 2 remotes. This was also a transitional serial model so parts are higher than the later models. Considering a 2750, 2755, 5410 or other comparable model. I would prefer a side console 3020 but they are hard to find in my area and are going high $ like the 4020's. How good are the 2750's and 55. Deere didn't produce them for very long, were they lost sheep and unpopular among buyers? I don't see very many around, will parts cost more than other models? Where were they built? What are the pro's and cons. What do you think of the 5410's. They seem too light and not enough power. Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated!

I've worked on many of these 50 and 55 series tractors at a dealership. What I have seen is that at about 5500hrs. They start having hydraulic problems. Mostly from the clutch packs getting worn and sending debris through the system. They are a really good tractor made in Germany. We have one on our farm works great only has 4400hrs. I suggest one with low hours. hope this helps

Sorry about your 3020. if you're going to sell it,at least try to find it a good home for it so it can get restored, and paraded some day. In regards to the 2750 we've got one on the farm in 4wd configuration with a loader, that had been a real good tractor. However lately this spring and summer, it has developed some hydrolic problems, However the thing has over 6,000 hours on it. The clutch has also had to be replaced. The only thing I don't like about the tractor is it being a standard, and having to straddle the trasmission. The tractor is also noisey, and heat seems to get sucked back under the canopy real bad while operating. This one is a tough tractor though, and has done alot of grunt work. I think you need to look more towards a 5500 or 5510 in regards to a newer tractor. I think they are at least 70 HP, maybe alittle more which it sounds like you are after. I have a neighbor who bought one last year to use in his landscaping buisness, and is having good luck with it. Good Luck in the hunt. Greg H.

I know nothing about the tractors that you speek, but I do have a 72 model 3020 that I know I wouldn't part with for the world and when it is worn out I would look for another one just like it because I know that they don't make em that good any more. But the help that I offer to you is a web sight called "farmers fastline.com" that offers an equiptment finder that will help to locate tractors and other equiptment at dealers across the nation and is helpful at getting an idea on a price for machinery. I hope I helped a little bit.
