I'm presently restoring a 420W and it has no tag. Anyone have knowledge on how to get one made, at the same time, keeping it accurate and correct?

I had a similar experience on a 430. I purchased a housing with good tag. Drove the pins out from inside and then installed good tag. You need to get one that matches your model and then this will be your serial number. I did tell the buyer of tractor that I changed but now it has a good tag for future use. Be careful with pins as the do not pry out easily, you have to drive from back.

Chuck - Thanks for the info. I emailed John Deere from WWW.Deere.com and asked the same question. They actually replied a day later and said I needed the engine serial and they might be able to match it to a serial number for the tractor. I'm going to give it a shot and see what happens.
