My fuel pump is not pumping fuel. I took off the top and was unable to see anything wrong with the mechanism or operation, but no suction in or push out at all. Could be the diaphram is fatigued after 20 years of use. Does anyone out there have any information, maybe a schematic they could send me, on that fuel pump. Viewed from the top, it is about 2 x 2 inches and square. Can this pump be rebuilt, and how do I get it off the engine? Any help at all would be appreciated.

I have replaced mine on my 317. It is an easy task. Remove the air cleaner, unhook the fuel lines, carefully blow all debris away, and remove 2 hold-down bolts. The pump is not rebuildable. See your Kohler dealer or your favorite John Deere dealer. cost about $25-$30.
Be sure to carefully re-attach the fuel lines and check your fuel filter. You may wish to put one in the supply line from tank to pump if none is present.

Thanks, Wayne. Do you or anyone else have a source for that pump? The cheapest I could find it for was $45 at a John Deere Deale

I couldn't find anyone selling that fuel pump for less than $45. Do you have a less expensive source? By the way, thanks for your advice, Way
