French Hecht (?) front wheels; source of rims muffler

My 1939 B has cast front wheels with detachable rims. The casting number is F&H W242D, I believe. I am assuming that is French and Hecht. Are rims available? Mine are in very bad shape, and before I try to salvage them I would like to at least know if an alternative is available. I have tried Millet Tire and the other readily available sites on this web site, without luck. I would prefer new to salvage.

Another question: I havent had any luck trying to find a muffler for my B (early styled, SN B69203). Does anybody have a suggestion where to go? Id like to have a muffler, instead of just having a straight pipe welded up like we did when I was growing up.

Thanks in advance,

Pat

You can give Greg Stephen a try at [email protected] a try. He deals in a lot of older stuff. Good luck.

Pat, as far as your muffler goes, if the original type muffler is not available (I think it subs up to the later muffler) you can take an AB2700R (the later one) and cut off the extension. With a little touch-up I doubt if anyone could tell the difference. Hope this helps. Mike
