Am looking at a 2520 gas. Where does it fit in the range of JD tractors? Looks to be very close in size and features to a 3010/20. How does the horsepower compare to 3010? Are any major parts interchangeable with 3020? Appreciate any data, Dick

THE 2520 WAS INTRODUCED IN THE FALL OF 1968 AS 1969 MODEL AND WAS CONTINUED UNTIL 1973 ONE YEAR LONGER THAN ANY OTHER 20 SERIES TRACTOR. IT REPLACED THE 2510 AND HAD THE CONTROLS ON THE SIDE CONSOLE. THERE IS NO SUTCH THING AS A 2510 WITH SIDE CONSOLE OR A 2520 WITH DASH CONTROLS. I HAVE A 1970 2520 POWER SHIFT DIESEL AND A 1972 2520 SYNCRO-RANGE DIESEL, I THINK THEY ARE SOME OF JOHN DEERE!s FINEST WORK !

Many people will say their was a 1973 2520. Not true. The last 2520 (SN-023865) shipped to ***********, MN in May of 1972.

I don't want to tell people where this tractor is origally shipped.

I bought a used 1970 John Deere 2520 gas tractor and it didn't have a book. I don't know how to maintenance it. How much water do you use? What kind and how much oil do you use? Where can I get this information?

Dick,
The 2520 gas is a 55hp tractor produced from July of '63 to June of '72. It replaced the 2510.

The 3010 is also 55 hp, but was produced from June of '60 to July of '63.

The 3020 replaced the 3010 in '63 and was produced until 12 June of '72. It is 65 hp.

I'm sure there are some interchangeable parts....

Hope this helps.
