Well after using MF for a few years finally joined the real farmers and bought a JD. Any information on the 2010 would be appreciated. It seem to be in great shape except for some oil leaking, I believe, around the tappet cover. Gonna change the gasket tomorrow.

hey, A JD mecanic once told me, "The 2010 is almost unbreakable.....if you got a good one, if you got a bad one you could work your whole life and never keep it fixed!"
I would try it for a while and see how it pans out. The hydraulics are one of the bad points. I have seen the same tractor in the shop 3 times in one summer trying to fix that problem and in the words of my friend who was repairing it, "There isnt any reason for it not to work!!!" Like I said, i would try it out and see, but dont be surprised if you end up trading it off!!!

Won't be long you'll be ready to go back to massey. The 2010 wasn't one of JD's better idea's.

I hope youre part of the 1% who got a good one. The2010 was the most trouble prone tractor to ever sport green paint. If you want to save some money, trade it off on a 3020 or 2510 or2520,the money spent on the initial tradein will be alot cheaper than that red headed step child you've acquired and the costly repairs you are likely to encounter.

The early years in the 2010 family were prone to problems. The '64 and '65 models seem to have had the problems solved. I have a 1965 2010LP that runs smooth as can be and doesn't leak or complain. I like it.
