have a 1942 B, this spring the carb was leaking gas, removed the brass nut on the bottom of the fuel bowl, the cast threads had almost rusted away, and the brass nut cannot make good enough contact to hold the fuel bowl tight. I have done a lot of work on this tractor, but am interested to know if anybody else has an easier fix than what I might dream up.

Had a carb on my 38 B that had no threads left when I went to work on it. I sent it to Robert's carb. repair and am pleased with the finished product. He is expensive, but it will be done right.

Few things are more expensive than a cheep job done wrong. Long after the cost is forgotten the quality or lack of it is still there.

I have heard that some people cut the threaded portion off a sparkplug and weld that on in place of the damaged threads. Should work if done right.

Get someone with a lathe and make a new nut. It is 7/8 x 18 and make it undersize to fit the carb. threads.
