Hello,
I own a John Deere model LA. I believe it to be a 1941 model. However, the serial number tag is missing. I have heard that there is a way to find your serial number though Deere and Co. Would anyone know what information I would have to provide them, and/or who I should contact about this matter. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

I have heard of a couple of people have found that if their LA has the original magneto witch should be an (Edison Spitdorf model RM), that the arcives have had some of the mag. serials numbers matched to the serial number of the tractor. If you are lucky enough the have the original mag and can find the number from the arcives, I can supply you with a reproduction tag. Otherwise there is no other way that I am aware of to find the serial number for an LA. Good luck, Steve Ridenour
