I was just wondering what a John Deere 70 gas with a narrow front end weighs. I heard that it was 6,035, but I want to know for sure.

In Two-Cylinder magazine, I saw a 720 with a lot of weight. It had about 3 feet of wheel weights sticking out on each rear wheel, and was pulling sleds with concrete blocks and more wheel weights. Just something funny.

A Mossner, according to my manual the 70 gas with narrow front, no 3pt, no fluids, no p/s, no fuel, & 12x38 rear wheels weighs 5945#. So your 6,035# is probably pretty close. I know my 70 gas with all the fluids in it & roll-o-matic, PTO & big rear tires & 3point goes about 6500#. It is a handfull on my 12,000 Lb. axled trailer with (4) brakes. I wouldn't even consider hauling it very far on a 7,000# car hauling trailer.

Clooney,I haul mine on a 16 ft trailer and I have the tires about half full of fluid and the wheels all the way in.And might I say,it loads the wagon.I have a 4wd Chevrolet that I pull it with and the 350 knows its back there.I just go locally and do not venture out on long trips though.I am interested in seeing how much it actually weighs.

Better take it to a scale next time you have it on the trailer, weigh the trailer empty etc. The fluid in you tires alone make it impossible to guess the correct weight unless you know what fluid, and how many pounds in each.
I have a 720 with fluid filled tires and with a loader on it I felt it to much for my 12000 # trailer and had a dealer move it, he ruined his flatbed truck he moved it on. Swore it was the heavy-ist tractor he had ever moved. Bob
