51 B Clutch engagement problem?

I have an interesting problem with the clutch on my 1951 B. The clutch has always operated just great since I have owned it. (Still does) One time I noticed something was not right. I had the tractor at low idle, trans in neutral, and I engaged the clutch and there was a rubbing sound and the idle speed was noticably lowered. i Tried adjusting the clutch looser and tighter, didn't seem to help. I also lengthened the engagement rod some. I helped a little but it was hitting the back of the headlight some.

Since I noticed the problem I usually engage the clutch and then pull back on the engagement lever about 1". When I do this there is no noise and no draging the idle down. Also I noticed that last inch of travel (fowards) causes the Fork Shaft to lift a little in the housing, accompanied by the noise and idle speed reduction.

Do you think the Bronze coller is worn? or is the housing maybe worn out? The parts book calls this housing a "bearing" "AB 3931 R"

Also I have never got this clutch to "pop" like it is supposed to when adjusted properly. I don't know if this is a related problem or a seperate one.

Thanks in advance
