I'm just finishing up my Model R restoration. it's a 1952. The sides of the hood and the sides of the radiator cowling are painted yellow. The decals I received from "Walts Parts" are yellow with black trim. (This problem is not Walts fault because I didn't specify the color I wanted) I'm afraid if I put them on they will not show since they are almost the same color as the panel. Should I return these for Green lettering? Also, I received one small John Deere decal like the two large ones. Where does it go? Thank You! Tugboat

The small John Deer decal goes on the back of the seat backrest.

Todd;Gord; Thanks for your comments! You know, most of the photos of Model R tractors were all green except for the wheels and rims that were yellow. This 52 came from Canada with original paint and it had yellow side panels. I'm sure it was not repainted and I duplicated the color scheme just as I received it. Thanks again! I think I'll use the decals as they are. Tugboat

Its your tractor, but only the 20 and 30 series had the yellow scheme on the hood and grill. Model R's had all green tin

Hi again Tugboat, it's Gord. The little JOHN DEERE decal goes on the back of the seat back.
I hope you aren't worried about the so called "correct police" as the model "R" was all green except for the wheels and rims. Personnaly I think that if you want to paint it PINK then that is your right as you own it!!
The decals would normally be black except for yellow behind the letter R so the ones you have would probably look like sillouettes but just tape them up in place and stand back and have a boo at them to see what they look like.
