I TRIED THE GARDEN TRACTOR CHAT, BUT NOT VERY MANY PEOPLE POST ON IT, AND I NEED A RESPONSE FAST. MY JD 165 HYDRO SEEMS TO BE VERY WEAK, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WARMS UP. THE REVERSE DOESN'T EVEN WORK, AND FORWARD IS VERY WEAK, IT WON'T EVEN CLIMB SMALL HILLS. IS THIS A PROBLEM FOR THE PROFESSIONALS TO FIX, OR IS IT SOMETHING I COULD LOOK INTO MYSELF? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS FOR READING.

Also make sure your belt is not slipping. this can cause the same situation you are experiencing.

Loc, There is two things that might cause your problem. Check the small manual valves on top of the transmission. These two valves are destoking valves for the tranny. If one or both are stuck down some it will cause the oil pressure to drop and cause the tranny not to pullas it should. The other thing which you hope it is not the problem is you have the Swash plates and pistons in the trannyworn out. If the oil is clean and has stayed clean you should not have this problem with the pistons and slippers. Check the two valves on top of the tranny first.

LOC, I'm not very familiar with the 165 but if it has a filter on the "hydro" system I would start there. If the filter is starting to pulg up it wiil act like you are talking. Also on my 755 hydro there is a strainer screen in the pump intake fitting, if yours has that type of screen check it, just a thought.
