Our old girl is ready to go on the auction block, but with one problem--no serial number plate. By looking at her we can tell she is a 1925, but we aren't sure after that. Interestingly, the front axle, part number D707R, is not listed in the part books I've seen, nor is the transmission case part number. The part number is supposed to be D670R, but our girl reads D670RX. Any ideas? I couldn't get a peep out of the Deere and Co. archivist.

I meant LEFT side, sorry. Just pulled the left wheel on my 38 D and it says 34-38, so much for helping out on this one, all others I have checked had matching years stamped on the trans case. Bob

I think I heard somewhere that the X was put on experimental parts and experimental tractors. Someone please correct me if this is wrong.

Look behind the right rear wheel from just behind the flywheel, you will see a date cast up high on the rearend case, this will be aproximate as some of the castings set for up to a year, but all of mine match the tags. Bob
