Who knows how to set the governer on an 830? the service manual gives conflicting instructions on different pages. one place says to set the racks at zero, and another place it says to set them at one.

It's been thirty years but as I remember it is the same as a 730. We set the racks wide open throttle to 13mm , this gives you abt 20 more Hp.(The Engine not running, the book calls for 11 mm I believe) Make sure that it shuts off at zero. Also make sure that decompression lever works!!Theres nothing like the sound of a runnaway!!!!Hope this helps Don

Duane- Sorry I can't help you but I had a question for you. Is that a 1970's 830 diesel utility or a 1950's 830? If it is the newer model I would like to ask you a few questions about it. I recently purchased the utility 830 and I am having trouble getting some answers.
Thanks
