I finally coaxed the pistons out of my stuck A and
it looks like the cylinder walls are pitted pretty deep. It is already .045 over and I am not sure if
going out to .125 will remove all of the pitting.
What are my options? Should I look for a used block (if so where is a good place to check?) or can it be bored farther or sleeved? I need some good news to make up for a depressing weekend after finding this.

Couldn't you sleeve and bore sleeves to fit .045 pistons. Not cheap, but may be best option. Also, check with Central Tractor (I forget the 1-888 #) my B had a cracked block with standard pistons and I got a nice, rebuilt sleeved to standard block from CT for $350 +$35 shipping. It was milled, honed and primed. I had some folks quote me that much or more for marginal used blocks. Also, check with Shorty Dear - he seems to have lots of parts at reasonable prices.

Dale, I found a good used block out of Wilson Brothers in Fredrickton Ohio. They seemed to have lots of parts there. They are about 1 hour NE of Columbus Ohio.

Dale you are looking at around $100.00 per sleve and then the cost of the pistons if you bore the block. You might check with Shorty Dear at [email protected] He has some real good parts. If he does not have it contact David Marlin at 417-589-2634. These might have what you are looking for in parts. Hope you better luck than you have had up to now
