I thought that the JD 6030 had it's decal switched from Generation I to a 30 series decal in 1973 but I've now seen 1972 6030's with the long yellow stripe. Is this correct? What serial # was the switch made?

Thanks

I wish I could be more specific, but here is what J.R. Hobbs said on that subject in the January 1996 issue of Green Magazine, "1972 production tractors did not have the "stripe" model identification on the hood, but used the 20 series hood medallions, with the model identifications on the rear side shields. 1973-up tractors used the label with "John Deere" in the approximate middle, and "6030" in the front, to match the Generation II tractors. Some of the very late production tractors also had the square leaping deer medallion at the front of the tractor, again, like the 30 and 40 series tractors"

And you still don't have your answer, do you??

Sorry,

Stan
